Module 3 review
In the module 3 we looked at the 3 different types of exercise such as sedentary, incidental and formal exercise. We also discussed ways in which we can increase physical activity, and how we can add it into our day. The benefits of exercise including weight maintenance, reduction in cardiovascular and stroke mortality and increasing metabolism were all highlighted. We also dispelled some the false myths that only strenuous exercise is only produces health benefits and that weight training will make you chunky as well as affirming that HIIT can be done by all people of all fitness levels. Finally, we discussed some common cognitive errors about delaying exercising like it has to be a hard workout to get benefits or that you have to be in the right mindset to exercise.
